After graduation, he earned a full scholarship to the University of Southern California and played on the football team his freshman year earning the honor of New Comer of the Year.  He then transferred to El Camino City College where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree and was selected to All League Running Back and team’s Most Valuable Offensive Back.  After his time at El Camino he then transferred to Iowa State University to continue his collegiate and athletic careers.  He majored in Business and played on the football team where as a junior, Andrew received Best Offensive Back and Best Newcomer to the team.  As a senior, he was voted team captain and also received Best Offensive Back and earned an award for good conduct on and off the field.

The Houston Oilers signed Coach Jackson as a free agent for the 1987 season and he went on to finish the year as Houston’s second leading rusher behind Mike Rozier, the former Heisman Trophy winner.  At the end of the year, the Oilers released him and Andrew was acquired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He played several games until he was released in 1988. Since his professional career, Coach Jackson has been coaching and training for over 9 years.  He is a certified Running Back coach for the National Football Academies, and is certified as a personal trainer through ISSA. Additionally, he served as the strength and conditioning coach for Verbum Dei High School’s 2009-2010 seasons.  The team became the 2009 League Champs under his training.  Coach Jackson is also the strength and conditioning coach for the George Washington Preparatory High School girl’s varsity basketball team.  As of September 2010, Andrew holds the Athletic Director position at Animo South Los Angeles High School, a team that earned the title of first year runner up in the small school championships.

There have been quite a few athletes who have had considerable success due to Coach Jackson’s training.  Kyle Knox, Fresno State LB, came to AJ as a junior in high school.  When he began his training he weighed in at 185 lbs and by the end of summer, he was 205 lbs. due to a 3,000 calorie-per-day performance diet and intense training 5 days per week.  As a result of this training, Kyle earned a full scholarship to Fresno State University and earned the award for the strongest freshman, overall.  Kenjon Barner, Oregon RB, started training with Coach in the summer preceding his senior year of high school.  Similarly, he was placed on a high performance diet and intensive strength, conditioning and agility training.  Consequently, he gained 15 lbs. of muscle, he ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the Nike Combine, and he was the second leading scorer in the country in 2008.  Mark Rogers, Cal Poly RB, began his training with AJ in his junior year in high school with his focus on agility and conditioning which ultimately helped him earn a scholarship, originally to West Virginia, and has since transferred to Cal Poly.  Dijon Washington, Nebraska DB, is another athlete trained during his junior year in high school with a focus on speed.  When he began his training, he ran a 4.62 in the 40-yard dash.  Upon completion of his training with AJ, he ran a 4.55, which contributed to his being able to earn a scholarship to Nebraska.

Aristicus Forester, Jackson State OL, came to AJ overweight at 330 lbs with limited previous football knowledge and experience, also during his junior year.  After approximately 6 months of intense training, he trimmed down to 310 lbs, he became the anchor of his high school’s offensive line left tackle and he eventually earned a full ride scholarship to Jackson State.  Albert Russell, Northern Alabama LB, is a unique story that came to Coach Jackson during his sophomore year of college, with no previous college football experience, for training and exposure.  Coach provided training to get Albert into football shape and also put together a highlight reel of his high school games.  As a result of this, Albert was offered a scholarship to Northern Alabama.  He became a starting   linebacker.  Finally, there is Drew Thomas, UTEP DB.  Drew was a high school student out of Chicago who found  Coach AJ’s services online.  His parents desired that a highlight tape be compiled so as to provide exposure for Drew.  Due to the exposure provided by Coach Jackson, Drew was offered a scholarship to the Air Force Academy.

Other athletes who have benefited from AJ’s training include: Kiera Bostic, sprinter, Texas Southern; Marcus Miller, FB, Texas Southern; Rafael Rice, RB, Illinois State; Devraun Thompson, LB, Rutgers; and Chris Jacobs, 3rd base, out of Westchester High School, drafted to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Coach Scurran’s current record as a high school and college coach is 243-77. For the 2007 football season, he was selected by the Arizona Republic, Arizona’s largest newspaper, as the state’s “Large School Coach-of-the-Year for taking the Santa Rita Eagles in Tucson from 0-10 to 11-2, the biggest turnaround in state history. In 2008, the Eagles went all the way to the state title game.

This Spring (2008), he will coach Team USA vs. the Japanese U19 All Stars in Tokyo. With a team recruited from all over the US, but with only one week of practice, his group of “American Football Ambassadors” will attempt to defeat a very well coached and disciplined Japanese team on national television in the host country.

Scurran’s teams at Sabino High School (1989-1999) made 5 appearances in the State Championship game in 10 years, making 9 out of 10 state semi-final appearances. This record was at a school that held the state’s record for consecutive losses and won barely 30% of its total games. He left Sabino with 46 consecutive league wins.

Coach Scurran was then asked to start the football program at Pima College in Tucson, a school that had every other sport, but never a football team. With no scholarships, mostly first-year players, and resources only from funds raised by Scurran himself, they defied all predictions and logic by upsetting the defending national champions, Glendale College in the school’s inaugural football game.

As a featured clinician for the past 21 years for Bigger, Faster, Stronger, the “Nation’s Leader in Athletic Development”, he has affected the lives of thousands of young athletes in almost every sport.  Coach Scurran also works with the Mega Clinic-Frank Glazier Football Clinic Group speaking on both football strategy and athletic development for all levels of play.  His latest passion is Youth Football and youth sports in general and he speaks on these subjects at almost every Mega-Glazier Clinic.

Coach Scurran is a nationally recognized Motivational Speaker and Consultant for corporate and educational seminars on Organizational Thinking, Strategic Planning, Teamwork and Leadership.  He has spoken in every state in the US and many locations in Europe.  His most popular speech, “Recipe for a Winner”, can be adapted to any business, social or institutional setting and is well received in all venues.

Jeff Scurran holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida in Journalism and Communications and a Master’s Degree from the University of Arizona in Counseling and Psychology.

Siegal most recently worked the 2009 campaign as an assistant offensive line coach on Larry Fedora’s coaching staff at the University of Southern Mississippi. In his one year at USM, the Golden Eagles ranked
13th nationally in passing efficiency and 18th in scoring offense. They also went to the New Orleans Bowl.

Prior to Southern Miss, Siegal spent a total of 10 seasons serving separate stints as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at the College of the Sequoias in California and Dodge City (Kan.) Community
College. Most recently, In four seasons (2005-08) at the College of the Sequoias, Siegal helped guide the Giants to back-to-back bowl game appearances in 2005 and 2006. In tutoring numerous all-Americans
and all-conference performers at COS, Siegal’s offensive units consistently ranked among the nation’s leaders in total offense, including # 1 in 2005. Prior to his stint in the California junior college ranks, Siegal
had similar coaching responsibilities in six successful seasons (1999-2004) at Dodge City CC in Kansas. His Offenses were again Nationally Ranked and in 2002and 2004 they were # 1 in Nation in Total Offense.
In 2002 they also led the Nation in Rushing led by # 1 Rusher in Nation Rb Gerard Jackson and # 10 Qb Walter Washington. Among the 13 NCAA Division I quarterbacks he has coached at the junior college
level during his career include Brent Schaeffer (Tennessee/Ole Miss) Arkelon Hall (Memphis) at COS as well as Walter Washington (Temple) and Omar Haugabook (Troy) at Dodge City.

With eight seasons of high school coaching experience under his belt, Siegal previously served headcoaching stints at Venice High School (1996-98) and Key West High School (1994-95) in Florida. At Venice, he took a winless program for the three years prior to his arrival and guided the team to back-to-back postseason appearances, which led to an eventual state championship.

Siegal also has coaching experience at the senior college level, having served as assistant coach at Southern Arkansas University and was Recruiting Cordinator/Co-Defensive Cordinator at Qunicy University (ILL). Prior to that, Siegal had assistant coaching stints at Pasco High School in Dade City, Fla.(State Champions), Winona Sr HS,MN and at his alma mater, Winona State University, in Minnesota.

A member of the Minor League Professional Football Hall of Fame, Siegal’s impressive coaching resume also includes a stint as a guest assistant coach for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in 2007. He has also served as an assistant coach for the Tampa Bay Shockers of the Continental Football League.

A former all-state linebacker at Deerfield (Ill.) High School, Siegal was also a national champion Greco-Roman wrestler. He went on to compete in both football and wrestling at Winona State and Hamline University in Minnesota. This past spring in Heber City, Utah, Siegal took third-place honors in the Greco- Roman and Freestyle events at the USA Wrestling Veterans National Championships.

Siegal is married to the former Miriam Andrea of Long Grove, Ill., and they are the parents of one daughter, Taylor, 13, and two sons, Austin, 11, and “Bear” Bryant, 3.
